Join us via Zoom to learn more about the profession and UMKC’s Master of Science in Anesthesia program and application process. Anesthesiologist assistants are trained medical professionals who work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists as a member of the Anesthesia Care Team (ACT). Anesthesiologist assistants obtain pre-anesthetic health history, perform preoperative physical exams, clinically manage all aspects of an anesthetic including establishment of non-invasive and invasive monitors, administration of medications, evaluation and treatment of life-threatening situations, and execution of general and regional anesthetic techniques, all as delegated by the anesthesiologist.
