Are you interested in studying abroad and learning a language in the process? Come learn more about the Boren Awards on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:00-5:00 PM on Zoom.

The Boren Awards provides up to $30,000 for students to go on long-term, language-based study abroad programs focused on one of dozens of critical languages. Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the Boren is open to undergraduate and graduate students from any major. A long-term interest in working for the federal government is a key component of this program, so veterans, ROTC students, and those interested in long-term federal service are encouraged to apply.  

At the October 29th information session, hosted by the Office of Global and National Fellowships, advisors will go over the program details, including eligibility criteria and application tips, and answer student questions.
