New Graduate Student Orientation

The Graduate School holds one large general orientation session at the beginning of each Fall semester. Students beginning graduate study at MU in the preceding semesters are also welcome to attend.

Graduate School’s new student orientation for the Fall 2026 semester is being held in person,  on campus, the morning of August 17, 2026 from 8:30 AM- 10:30 AM in the Missouri Theatre.

Dr. Jeni Hart, Dean of the Graduate School, will welcome you to graduate study at MU, introduce you to the ways in which the Graduate School can assist you as you pursue a graduate degree or certificate at MU, provide important campus updates, and hear from our panel of experienced graduate students and faculty mentors.

Registration is not required for this event. Although attendance is not mandatory, we strongly encourage all new graduate students to attend if their schedule permits.  Online orientation materials will be included on our website the week of the 17th for those unable to attend in person.
