Grad school can be challenging—and learning how to stay mentally strong is an essential skill. This informal discussion, led by Dr. Chuck Burgess from the MU Counseling Center, will introduce practical tools for managing stress, building emotional resilience, and navigating setbacks with confidence.

No prior knowledge or preparation is needed—just bring a willingness to reflect and engage. The session is inspired by 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do by therapist and bestselling author Amy Morin. Participants will also receive a link to Morin’s keynote from Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week, which offers additional strategies for building mental strength.
