Knowing your material is one thing. Delivering it in a way that keeps an audience listening is another.

Join Dr. Caroline Waldbuesser, Course Director for Public Speaking (COMM 1200) at Mizzou, for a practical workshop focused on becoming a more confident, engaging, and intentional speaker. You’ll explore strategies for maintaining eye contact, reducing distracting filler words like “um,” improving pronunciation and vocal delivery, and practicing and rehearsing more effectively.

Dr. Waldbuesser holds a Ph.D. in communication from Ohio University and studies emotion in instructional contexts. As Mizzou’s Course Director for Public Speaking, she brings expertise in both the study and teaching of effective oral communication.

Open to all graduate students. Whether you’re preparing for a conference presentation, classroom talk, research pitch, interview, 3MT®, or another speaking opportunity, you’ll leave with practical strategies you can use to strengthen your delivery and connect more effectively with an audience.
