Join us for an enlightening conversation with former international graduate students. Distinguished faculty members who bring a wealth of experience as international graduate students in the United States.

This unique session offers invaluable insights into the journey of international graduate students who have successfully navigated the U.S. academic landscape.

Following the short introduction and remarks, the audience will be invited to ask questions to support their own academic journey.

Panelists:
Originally from Portugal, Marta Novaes Oliveira earned both her bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Mizzou and is currently pursuing her PhD. She works for MU Extension, focusing on strength training for older adults and healthy aging.

David Estrada Orúe is a bilingual journalist from Guanacaste, Costa Rica. He started his career in television news in 2009, working for Anexión TV, a local television station in his hometown. He began working as a news photographer and technical director, and later became a reporter and anchor. Estrada Orúe earned his master of arts in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2019. He earned his bachelor’s degree in radio, television and video, and political science from the University of the Ozarks in 2017.
