The Heart Squad was founded to spread the knowledge of the benefits of bystander interventions in medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, to train students to provide public education in these interventions, and to promote public health education. Trained Heart Squad members will provide community outreach education at events both on and off campus. In addition to these statements, Heart Squad will also help members develop professionally by improving interpersonal skills, networking skills, communication skills, gaining knowledge of public health education and outreach. The Heart Squad will be used as a tool for students interested in a career in health careers, health administration, and health education. All activities of this organization must be directed toward this purpose.
