When Saudi Arabia unveiled Vision 2030 in 2016, the Kingdom embarked on a reform program that would not only transform its economy but create immense opportunities for all Saudis, in countless ways. From diversifying its economy into new economic sectors like tourism, artificial intelligence and entertainment to expanding career and educational possibilities for the Kingdom’s next generation of leaders, to implementing a comprehensive approach to sustainable development and mitigating the impact of climate change, Vision 2030 has changed all aspects of Saudi society. Fahad Nazer, the official spokesperson for the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington D.C., will discuss Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s leadership in the Middle East and its role in the international community in creating a more sustainable tomorrow, and the importance of the 80-year U.S.-Saudi partnership.

About the speaker
Fahad Nazer has served as official spokesperson for the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington D.C. since 2019. Prior to his appointment, Nazer was a nonresident fellow at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington and served as an international fellow at the National Council on U.S. Arab Relations. Additionally, he was a columnist for the daily newspaper Arab News. His publications have appeared in Foreign Affairs, The New York Times, CNN, Foreign Policy, YaleGlobal Online, The National Interest and Newsweek.
Nazer earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from New York University as a master’s degree in political science from Saint John’s University in New York City. He also has completed the credit and examination requirements of the Ph.D. program in political science at Catholic University of America in Washington.
