Welcome!

Leadership does not happen in isolation. It is shaped by the communities we join, the relationships we build, and the impact we create together. The 2026 Mizzou Leadership Conference (MLC): Rooted in Community invites students to explore their leadership, strengthen their connections with others, and discover how they can make an impact at Mizzou, in Columbia, and beyond.

Whether you are just beginning your leadership journey or are an experienced student leader looking to deepen your impact, MLC provides a space to learn, connect, reflect, and grow alongside fellow Tigers and members of our community.

Why Attend?

This year’s theme, Rooted in Community, challenges us to think about the connection between who we are as leaders, how we lead others, and the communities we impact. Through engaging sessions, meaningful conversations, community connections, and hands-on experiences, you’ll leave with new ideas, practical skills, and connections you can carry into your leadership at Mizzou and beyond.

What You’ll Experience

  • Keynote Speaker – Hear from our keynote speaker as they share their perspective on leadership, community, and creating meaningful impact.
  • Leadership Learning Pathways – Choose sessions across two pathways: Understanding Self, focused on who you are and how you show up as a leader, and Understanding Others & Impact, focused on how you connect with others, strengthen communities, and create meaningful impact.
  • Interactive Workshops – Participate in engaging sessions focused on leadership development, communication, professional growth, community engagement, and creating positive change.
  • Community Service Experience – Put leadership into action through a hands-on service opportunity focused on giving back and strengthening our community.
  • Professional Development Resources – Arrive early to receive a free professional headshot and connect with the Mizzou Career Center for résumé reviews, career advice, and additional resources to support your future goals.
  • Networking & Connection – Build relationships with fellow students, campus partners, and community leaders who are making an impact across Mizzou and Columbia.
