Mission Mixed at Mizzou is the first on-campus community for students who identify as Mixed: those having two or more racial, ethnic, and/or cultural backgrounds. The Mixed and Multiracial population in Missouri has never been more numerous, yet representation and awareness of Mixed people is painfully absent. MAM strives to create a community of Mixed students and to advocate for the unique issues they face. By uniting students of all backgrounds, MAM seeks to empower individuals to embrace their unique identity while celebrating the multitude of identities surrounding them. Likewise, MAM envisions the improved treatment of all Marginalized peoples through campus education and shared action with other Multicultural organizations.
Membership BenefitsThere are many benefits to being a member of Mixed at Mizzou! Being an open community, we accept people of all identities and will support you in the journey of understanding/discovering/appreciating your identity. We'll talk about topics specifically relating to being Mixed, and give members and opportunity to share their thoughts on these topics which other clubs might not cover. We also partner with different groups in the Columbia community for service and outreach projects. Last but not least, Mixed at Mizzou is a great place to make new friends! We host many social events with free food, games, and more!
Will end at Graduation
