The University of Missouri American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative is a student-led organization dedicated to saving lives by raising awareness of lung cancer screening. Our mission is to educate students and community members about lung health, promote early detection, and connect eligible individuals to screening resources while engaging students in meaningful public health service.
Members of MU-ALCSI receive the following benefits: - Hands-on public health experience through outreach and educational events. - Opportunities to work with healthcare professionals and community organizations. - Development of leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. - Volunteer hours applicable to resumes, applications, and service requirements. - The opportunity to advocate for lung cancer awareness and early detection. - Open and inclusive membership for all University of Missouri undergraduate students.
