About Us

1. As an active and organized group, the Mizzou Women in Physics and Astronomy (MOWiPA) seeks to pursue the following: a. To represent the female students and gender minorities of the Mizzou Physics and Astronomy Department to the physics and astronomy faculty and administration through departmental exchange and through projects and programs designed to facilitate research and learning on the part of the female students. b. To have a forum where women in physics and astronomy can voice their concerns affecting their academic lives. c. To enhance the academic pursuits of women in physics and astronomy by supporting and promoting social and cultural events of interest to women in physics and astronomy. d. To support special projects and programs involving women in physics and astronomy.
