Mission The purpose of the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Student Chapter at the University of Missouri-Columbia is to support and promote the mission of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) through awareness, fundraising, advocacy, and educational activities on campus and within the local community. The organization will engage students in discussions about global health and humanitarian issues, provide opportunities for volunteerism, and foster a spirit of service and compassion among its members. The chapter will also work to differentiate itself from similar groups on campus by specifically focusing on the humanitarian principles of impartiality, neutrality, and independence that guide MSF’s global operations.
Membership BenefitsThe membership benefit of being part of a Friends of MSF chapter typically includes opportunities to advocate for humanitarian causes, raise awareness about global health issues, and support the mission of Doctors Without Borders. Members often gain access to resources and events that educate them on medical aid in crisis zones, develop skills in leadership and advocacy, and network with like-minded individuals passionate about international healthcare and humanitarian work. Additionally, members can participate in fundraisers and campaigns that contribute to MSF's life-saving efforts.
