Cambio Center

Established in 2004, the MU Cambio Center leads research and outreach on Latines, immigrant integration, and communities undergoing demographic change. To understand processes of integration and support changing communities, the Center leads interdisciplinary research that spans fields as diverse as psychology, community development, economics, health, education, human development and family studies, history, language acquisition, and law. To ensure that research is useful to communities and their leaders, Cambio Center outreach efforts bring together academics and practitioners to discuss findings and exchange best practices. The Cambio Center advances this work both at the university and throughout the region by organizing the annual Cambio de Colores conference, the premiere conference on immigrant integration in new destination areas, and through its network of over 56 Faculty Fellows and 22 Student Fellows.

The Care Team provides one-on-one support, including advocacy, referrals and follow-up services when you, our MU students, are experiencing significant difficulties related to mental health, physical health, personal and family emergencies, financial issues or other areas of concern. We are available to consult with staff, faculty, friends and families.

The Care Team is committed to assisting you in successfully navigating the University of Missouri campus. As care coordinators, we take a holistic approach in our work. This means that we are active, empathic listeners and focus on the whole person in front of us. Our goal is to join you in tackling challenges so that you do not feel alone in the process.

CLIP Government & Public Service
The Civic Leaders Internship Program (CLIP): State Government Internship Program is a unique, personalized experience for MU undergraduates interested in serving the state of Missouri through internship opportunities in publicly funded offices.

Membership Benefits
Our 3 and 6 credit hour internships place undergraduates in public policy-oriented work-spaces that allow them to gain professional experience and contacts. CLIP students will join a network of current students and Alumnus that can assist them in their career search post undergraduate.

MU FIGs offer incoming freshmen a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step into ready-made communities of likeminded students, faculty, and staff in pursuit of excellence at Mizzou.

By joining a FIG as a Freshman in your major or area of interest you will gain priority access to in-demand classes while benefitting from weekly classes led by a teaching team comprised of your peers and a faculty/staff member. Through this weekly seminar you’ll gain access to key resources and opportunities at Mizzou all while building robust personal and professional networks.

As a FIG Peer Learning Assistant, students work directly with campus faculty and staff to offer a one-credit-hour FIG seminar to incoming freshmen in the fall. PLAs can build their resumes, expand their professional networks, build meaningful relationships, and earn a valuable leadership credential through the Novak leadership Institute. Apply today!
