The University of Missouri Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Chapter SACNAS is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM.
At SACNAS, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not abstract concepts or buzz words. They are values and the heartbeat of our programs. They are part of our DNA. We create a space where STEM students and professionals from historically underrepresented populations can feel like they belong, embrace their intersectional identities, and be empowered to bring their whole selves to STEM.

├óÔé¼┼ôSACNISTA├óÔé¼┬Ø is a term we use to refer to our members. It comes from adding ├óÔé¼┼ô-ista├óÔé¼┬Ø to the organization's name ├óÔé¼┼ôSACNAS├óÔé¼┬Ø. Adding this suffix indicates that SACNISTAs (or members) are people who share SACNAS' values and passion for diversity, inclusion, and equity in STEM. SACNISTAs bring their full authentic selves to our community to inspire and support one another. Anyone can be a SACNISTA– just click below to join us as a member!
