We offer a wide variety of programs with health & well-being content for audiences including students, faculty and staff or the whole MU community. Our presenters include a number of professional staff from our four centers. Which Mental Health presentation would you like?

See Say Do (1-hour) Learn to identify the signs of mental and emotional distress and take thoughtful action, to take care of yourself and others in need. Appropriate for students, staff, and faculty.

Nurturing My Wellness (NMW) We know that some students face additional challenges related to mental health and well-being. NMW focuses on providing specialized support for our students, staff, and faculty on mental health and wellness for campus through outreach initiatives and programming.

Empowered Overview (Bystander Intervention Program): The Empowered program provides participants with skills to get involved in situations where they can prevent, reduce, or respond to harm. Empowered works to address multiple, interconnected issues including substance misuse, interpersonal violence, prohibited harassment and discrimination, and mental well-being.

Empowered Deep Dive – Mental Well-being: The Empowered program provides participants with skills to get involved in situations where they can prevent, reduce, or respond to harm. This Deep Dive focuses specifically on scenarios involving concerns about mental well-being and suicidality.

Empowered Deeper Dive: Sense of Belonging: This program is designed to promote community connectedness and civic engagement with the overall goal of empowering students to get involved in situations where they can prevent, reduce or respond to harm. This session of emPOWERed works to showcase the ways campus community members can proactively build and respond to acts regarding sense of belonging on our campus.

Which Alcohol and Substance Use presentation would you like?

ASTP (Alcohol Skills Training Program): Through interactive discussions and practical strategies, ASTP aims to reduce risky drinking behaviors and promote safer, more responsible alcohol consumption.

Opioid Overdose Prevention and Response: Develop the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses effectively. The session covers risk factors, signs of overdose, and the proper use of naloxone (Narcan), empowering individuals to take action in emergency situations.

Cannabis 101: Gain accurate, evidence-based information about cannabis use, by exploring topics such as effects on the brain and body, legal considerations, and harm-reduction strategies to support informed and responsible decision-making.

Empowered Deep Dive – Alcohol and other drugs: The Empowered program provides participants with skills to get involved in situations where they can prevent, reduce, or respond to harm. This Deep Dive focuses specifically on scenarios involving alcohol and other drugs, including discussion of other potentially harm situations that may accompany substance use and how to respond to them.

Which presentation on Healthy Relationships, Groups & Sexual Health would you like?

10 Signs of Healthy & Unhealthy Groups: This workshop introduces participants to the impacts and realities of hazing in groups and organizations; walking through healthy and unhealthy group dynamics and helping students recognize the signs to identify ways to build healthy groups and teams in their community.

Hazing Prevention: Learn about the forms, risks, and consequences of hazing, so that you can recognize, prevent, and safely intervene in hazing situations, and promote a culture of respect and belonging in your group.

Sexual Health: Sexual health presentations provide affirming, accurate, and age-appropriate information to support informed decision-making and healthy relationships. Topics may include consent, contraception, STI prevention, communication skills, and accessing campus or community resources.

How to Help a Friend: Exploration of the RSVP Center’s “Listen. Believe. Support.” model for violence prevention with tips and tricks for navigating these conversations in your own life.

RSVP 101: This in an introduction to the RSVP Center’s prevention, education, and response services. You may choose to add content specific to your group, or specific skills-based education (such as “Listen. Support. Believe.”) - we can also make recommendations if you’re not sure what would be best.

Relationship Violence on a College Campus: Designed to share foundation-level information about relationship violence. Participants will learn signs of an abusive relationship, how to safely intervene, and campus and community resources that are available to those who experience relationship violence.

Understanding Rape Culture: RSVP Peer Educators lead an interactive presentation on what rape culture looks like and how it manifests in our daily lives. Additionally, you will learn about sexual violence, media-supported violence and some ways we can advocate for meaningful change in society.

Stalking on a College Campus: Designed to share foundation-level information about stalking, especially on a college campus. Participants will be challenged to examine their own ideas about stalking and how the minimization of this crime through culture perpetuates rape culture.

Empowered Deep Dive – Interpersonal violence: The Empowered program provides participants with skills to get involved in situations where they can prevent, reduce, or respond to harm. This Deep Dive focuses specifically on scenarios involving interpersonal violence, including relationship and sexual violence.

Which General Well-Being presentation would you like?

Meditation & Mindfulness: Learn mindfulness tools to reduce stress, enhance self-awareness, and promote emotional well-being. Programs are available to teach evidence-based mindfulness practices as well as meditation and breathing techniques, making them accessible for both beginners and experienced participants.

Motivation: Feeling stuck or low on drive? This talk is all about simple, real-life ways to kickstart your motivation, beat procrastination, and keep moving toward your goals—even on the tough days.

Sleep: Tired of being tired? In this session, we’ll break down how better sleep can help you feel more energized, less stressed, and sharper in class and out—with easy tips you can actually stick to.

Yoga (participants must provide their own supplies: yoga mat, straps, blocks, etc.)

Whether you would like to interview a SHWB professional, create a professional development training (Building Self-Awareness, Mandatory Reporting and Response, Building Inclusion through Dialogue), or create a custom presentation for your group. Please describe your preferred topic and learning outcomes.
