2024 Mizzou Welcome Week Leader Application
The Welcome Week Leader (WWL) is a student leadership position created to welcome incoming Mizzou students to the University of Missouri - Columbia. WWLs lead an assigned group of incoming students throughout Welcome Week. Leaders go with their students to various Welcome Week activities, eat meals with their group, and talk to students about all things Mizzou.

Serving as a Welcome Week Leader is a great opportunity for new and experienced leaders. The position gives you a chance to learn about campus, start your path to being a leader at Mizzou, and expand your Mizzou network.

IMPORTANT DATES
- Mandatory In-person Training: August 11-13, 9am-5pm (note: lunch/dinner will be provided)
- Welcome Week: August 14-18, 9am-10pm*

*You will not be working the entire time and lunch/dinner will be provided. August 14-16 will be lighter days for WWLs to get personal tasks completed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete asynchronous training throughout the Summer (e.g., short online quizzes, polls)
- Be available during mandatory in person training,  August 11-13, 9am-5pm
- Be available throughout  August 14-18, 9am-10pm
- Help provide programming for new students
- Abide by and reinforce University policies
- Answer fundamental questions about MU campus services, facilities, and activities (this will be covered during training
- Be prompt, prepared, and positive. Keep staff informed of special circumstances
- Create a welcoming environment for incoming Mizzou students the week before school starts

- Free early move-in on Saturday, August 10 for those living in a Mizzou Residential Life facility
- Opportunity to lead fellow Tigers through their first moments on campus and meet new people
PROGRAM CONFLICTS
Students participating in programs that require a substantial commitment during Welcome Week are not eligible to be Welcome Week Leaders due to the scheduling conflicts of these programs and the time commitment asked of Welcome Week Leaders.
Programs include: PHA Recruitment, IFC Recruitment, Marching Mizzou, BIOME Figs, ResLife RAs, and ROTC programs.

If you are a member or participant of these programs but would like to be a Welcome Week Leader, please communicate with the respective program's leadership to ensure they are willing to allow you to skip events to serve as a WWL.
