Mission
The purpose of the Alpha Deta Zelta Chapter of Alpha Psi Omega is to stimulate interest in theatre activities at the University of Missouri-Columbia and to secure for the university all the advantages and mutual helpfulness provided by a large national honor society. By electing students to membership, the society provides a reward for their participation in theatre activities of the university. The society will give acknowledgement to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in theatre, and provide a wider fellowship for those interested in theatre. Our chapter, most of all, intends to improve the craft, quality, and scholarship of theatre in our department, focusing on the development of the artist/scholar.

ASUM is a nonpartisan, student-run organization serving all students of the University of Missouri System. ASUM advocates for fellow University of Missouri system students with Missouri lawmakers and Mizzou administrators while also increasing civic engagement on campus. By tackling issues like funding for higher education, mental health initiatives, college affordability and more — ASUM empowers change across all of University of Missouri campuses. ASUM also hosts a variety of campus events including National Voter Registration Day every September in addition to both social and professional development opportunities for our members.

The Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Psi is a diverse group of men that is always looking to exceed expectations and grow more influence on the University of Missouri campus. We take pride in having a wide range of men in this fraternity, and our overall goal is to spread the values bestowed in us by former members and in our national and chapter constitutions. Canticum Novum exists to provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Missouri to participate in a small chamber ensemble. Canticum Novum will strive to increase the individual choral abilities of each member through focused and challenging ensemble work.

Members will be able to experience a vocal ensemble which benefits undergraduate musicians, composers, and conductors. Additionally, this provides undergraduates the opportunity to perform in a small chamber vocal ensemble. We hope to show the outreach that even a small group of singers can have, which can range anywhere from philanthropy to singing new works written by aspiring young composers.

We provide free dance classes to kids, PreK-5th grade, in the Columbia area.

As a teacher you will have the opportunity to pass on your dance skills and be a mentor to future dancers while gaining leadership experience and volunteer hours! Center Stage offers ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and pom classes for kids PreK-5th grade. All teachers are required to teach one class a week but are more than welcome to teach additional classes.

Compassion Mizzou strives to bring comfort and friendship to hospice patients. We strive to learn and expand our knowledge of hospice and palliative care to students on campus; by bringing in speakers, media resources such as documentaries, and hands- on experience by volunteering with Compassus. Our volunteer work would include sitting with people during the final hours of life, office work with Compassus, visiting with people in hospice, and other volunteer related activities through Compassus.

The purpose of the Council of Student Social Workers (CSSW) is to establish communications among students (more specifically social work majors), and faculty to better serve as a resource for our community. Signature events include Dome Lighting, Alumni Networking, Shamrock 5K/10K Race for charity, St. Patrick’s Ball, and the 120th anniversary of the Knighting Ceremony each reflecting the pride, innovation, and legacy of the engineering community.
