Mission
The purpose of the Alpha Deta Zelta Chapter of Alpha Psi Omega is to stimulate interest in theatre activities at the University of Missouri-Columbia and to secure for the university all the advantages and mutual helpfulness provided by a large national honor society. By electing students to membership, the society provides a reward for their participation in theatre activities of the university. The society will give acknowledgement to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in theatre, and provide a wider fellowship for those interested in theatre. Our chapter, most of all, intends to improve the craft, quality, and scholarship of theatre in our department, focusing on the development of the artist/scholar.

Canticum Novum exists to provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate students at the University of Missouri to participate in a small chamber ensemble. Canticum Novum will strive to increase the individual choral abilities of each member through focused and challenging ensemble work.

Members will be able to experience a vocal ensemble which benefits undergraduate musicians, composers, and conductors. Additionally, this provides undergraduates the opportunity to perform in a small chamber vocal ensemble. We hope to show the outreach that even a small group of singers can have, which can range anywhere from philanthropy to singing new works written by aspiring young composers.

We provide free dance classes to kids, PreK-5th grade, in the Columbia area.

As a teacher you will have the opportunity to pass on your dance skills and be a mentor to future dancers while gaining leadership experience and volunteer hours! Center Stage offers ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and pom classes for kids PreK-5th grade. All teachers are required to teach one class a week but are more than welcome to teach additional classes.

Compassion Mizzou strives to bring comfort and friendship to hospice patients. We strive to learn and expand our knowledge of hospice and palliative care to students on campus; by bringing in speakers, media resources such as documentaries, and hands- on experience by volunteering with Compassus. Our volunteer work would include sitting with people during the final hours of life, office work with Compassus, visiting with people in hospice, and other volunteer related activities through Compassus.

The purpose of the Council of Student Social Workers (CSSW) is to establish communications among students (more specifically social work majors), and faculty to better serve as a resource for our community. We hope to provide students with opportunities to develop skills necessary to be successful in our field. The mission of Engineers’ Club is to organize a week of events that celebrate our Patron Saint Patrick and the tradition of Engineers’ Week (E-Week). This particular celebration of engineers originated at the University of Missouri in 1903. Engineers’ Week includes the longest standing traditions at the University. Every year, our organization celebrates those who dedicate their time to the study of engineering and provide a week full of enjoyable and prideful events for the students and our community to participate in.

Magical Moments Foundation is a wish-granting organization for children with craniofacial disorders. We work to make a difference in these children’s lives, spread awareness of the lifelong harm caused by appearance-related stigma, and promote acceptance of facial diversity.

Children with facial differences often endure the pain of teasing, bullying, and isolation— pain that can leave emotional scars that last a lifetime. Children that face the world with a difference also endure the challenge of a more silent, but just as damaging, form of stigma: that of unconscious bias. And so, many children with differences grow up in a world that tells them that their dreams must be smaller than those of their peers.
