Remember the magic of elementary school book fairs — the excitement of browsing tables, discovering new stories, and hoping you’d win a prize? We’re bringing that energy back!

Join us for a Women’s History Month Book Fair celebrating women authors, creators, and entrepreneurs. Whether you’re a big reader or just here for the vibes, this event is designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and community.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • 🎉 Guessing games (yes, including a “guess the number of jelly beans” challenge) where you can win a book from a woman author
    • Books you could win include:
      • "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls (signed copy)
      • "Fierce" by Aly Raisman (signed copy)
      • "Born to Shine" by Kendra Scott (signed copy)
      • "Sidelined No Longer: The Untold Story of Women's College Sports" by Karen S. Rudolph
      • "The Life of Helen Stephens: The Fulton Flash" by Sharon Kinney Hanson
      • "Deep End" by Ali Hazelwood
      • "The Great Believers" by Rebecca Makkai
      • "Good Material" by Dolly Alderton
      • "Secrets of the Sprakkar" by Eliza Reid
      • "The House of the Spirits" by Isabel Allende
      • and more!
  • 🔖 Design-your-own bookmark station

  • 📝 A journal creation station to channel your inner writer

  • 🍪 Treats from women-owned businesses

  • ✏️ Free school supplies (because who doesn’t love free stuff?)

  • 📚 A special table from the Daniel Boone Regional Library where you can learn about our local library and even sign up for a library card

This event is all about celebrating the impact of women’s voices while reconnecting with that nostalgic book fair joy.

✨ Come solo. Bring your friends. Stay for five minutes or the whole time. All readers (and non-readers) welcome.

The University of Missouri strives for all events to be inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. If you require reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please contact Student Engagement & Leadership at engagement@missouri.edu.
