Assistant Teaching Professor and AI Fellow
Dr. Hatef Dastour is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Data Science and Analytics at the University of Missouri’s Institute for Data Science and Informatics and an AI Faculty Fellow in the Graduate School. His current research centers on applying artificial intelligence, large language models, machine learning, and geospatial analytics to natural disasters, environmental modeling and monitoring, and understanding how these environmental changes affect human health. He develops and teaches graduate courses in natural language processing, large language models, geospatial AI, cloud computing, and time series analysis, while contributing to AI policy, faculty training, and graduate student mentoring in data science and analytics.
