Announcing the Civic Leadership and Governance Fellows Program!

Do you care about public policy that shapes our country? Are you curious about how decisions get made and who makes them? The Public Service needs thoughtful leaders who want to make a real difference. The Truman School of Government and Public Affairs is creating a new fellowship program for student of all majors interested in civic leadership and governance. The Emerging Leaders in Public Service cohort of 25 students will become part of the national NextGen Service Network; be eligible for a summer policy academy in DC; participate in leadership, career, and professional development activities; be eligible for cross-campus activities with other universities; and become part of a national alumni group. Policy courses from all majors are accepted for this fellowship and it pairs nicely with students interested in a Minor in Leadership and Public Service and a Minor in Public Administration and Policy.

The program is a two-year program so applicants must have two years remaining prior to graduation and a 3.0 GPA. All participants will be required to enroll in the Emerging Leaders in Public Service Course taught at 9:30am Tuesday/Thursday in the Fall. Over a two-year period, the Civic Leadership and Governance Fellowship will require:
5 Leadership Development Activities;
4 Courses;
3 Career Development Activities;
2 Field Trips/Site Visits; and
1 Internship
Applications are due by midnight March 2nd. Applicants will be notified and permission numbers will be given by March 4th.

To find out more about the program please register for a virtual information session on February 25th at 5pm.
