The Mizzou Comics Union brings together students who are interested in comics, illustration, visual storytelling, zines, and related art forms. Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to create, study, discuss, and celebrate comics while promoting greater recognition of comics as a meaningful form of artistic expression, communication, and cultural analysis.
Members have access to a welcoming creative community where they can develop their interests and skills in comics and visual storytelling. Benefits may include: • Access to art supplies, paper, printing resources, and other comic-making materials • Creative workshops, drawing sessions, and collaborative projects • Peer feedback and opportunities to share works in progress • Discussions of comics, graphic novels, manga, zines, and related media • Opportunities to participate in publications, exhibitions, conventions, and community events • Connections with local artists, businesses, alumni, and professionals in the comics industry
