Letter from Recruitment Chair

Dear Potential New Members,

On behalf of the women of Delta Gamma, we would like to say we are so excited for your decision to participate in formal recruitment.

Over 140 years ago, Delta Gamma was founded on the core values of sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and to develop the best qualities of character.

At Delta Gamma, sisterhood is more than a word. It is truly the foundation of everything we do. It is found in the friendships that make Mizzou feel like home, the support that carries us through challenges, and the connections that encourage us to become the best versions of ourselves. What makes our chapter so special is the genuine care our members have for one another and the lifelong bonds that are formed along the way. The women of Delta Gamma create a community that extends far beyond college, making our sisterhood one that lasts a lifetime.

Whether it is within Delta Gamma, in athletics, within other campus organizations, or in the classroom, our members are constantly working hard to live up to our motto: Do Good. Many Delta Gammas are actively involved across campus, serving as leaders, mentors, and role models in a variety of organizations and activities. Our members contribute to initiatives such as Homecoming and Greek Week, participate in athletics, perform as Golden Girls and cheerleaders, engage in academic organizations and clubs, and dedicate their time to leadership and volunteer opportunities throughout the Mizzou and Columbia communities. Delta Gammas strive to make a meaningful impact both on campus and beyond.

Philanthropy is very important to the women in our chapter. In the spring, Delta Gamma hosts Anchor Slam, a basketball tournament where fraternities compete against one another to raise funds and awareness for our philanthropy, Service for Sight. We also hold a late-night dinner event, with all proceeds from both events benefiting Service for Sight. Beyond our own philanthropy efforts, Delta Gammas actively support numerous fraternity, sorority, and campus-wide events throughout the year, helping raise awareness and funds for a variety of meaningful causes and beneficiaries across the Mizzou community.

At the University of Missouri, Delta Gamma is more than just a sorority. It’s a place that feels like home. Every member is truly special and makes Delta Gamma what it is today. We are all super excited to meet you during recruitment, see you soon!
