About Us



The Legion of Black Collegians was formed by the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in 1968 and serves as a voice for Black students here on the University of Missouri- Columbia campus. LBC is the official Black student government at Mizzou. The Legion was officially recognized by the University as a government May 19, 1969.

LBC was organized with the intent to give African American students a voice in student government. The group acts as a social and political organization to promote the African American experience. Since its beginnings, the Legion has stood behind its purpose and mission to help African Americans on the MU Campus.
