About Us

Mizzou MoreThan4 is an organization of both service and advocacy for children suffering from cancer. Pediatric cancer research is continuously underfunded, historically receiving less than 4% of the federal cancer research budget. As a result, children are often treated with drugs and therapies that were developed for physiologically different adult bodies, causing debilitating and sometimes lethal effects. Mizzou MoreThan4's mission is to raise awareness for this important cause and to bring about change through legislation. We also support local pediatric cancer families in need and raise funding to contribute to pediatric cancer research.

Advocacy Committee

Our advocacy team focuses on raising awareness and inciting change. We partner with the American Cancer Society to train our members in advocacy and even send a team of advocates to Washington, D.C. each year to present our cause to U.S. Congress. Locally, we raise awareness for the cause, ask students to sign our petition, and write correspond with state legislators.

Volunteer Committee

Our volunteer team puts on a variety of events that benefit local pediatric cancer families. We bring presents to kids on their treatment days, host drives that raise donations for local families, host stem cell/bone marrow donor drives, and much more!

Our fundraising committee hosts events such as bake sales and profit shares that raise money for pediatric cancer research.
