Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to participate in recruitment?
All Recruitment events are free. We expect nothing besides your presence and willingess to hear about APhiG. If recruitment events are off-campus, rides can be arranged.
*Check current recruitment for more details on rides.

Do I have to be Asian-American to join APhiG?
No. Alpha Phi Gamma is an Asian-interest sorority, and we are not Asian-exclusive. Our sorority takes pride in its diversity of members. We do not discriminate in terms of race, color, sexual orientation, national origin, physical ability, marital status, financial or social status.

What is the best way to show interest in joining?
Show up! Text our Chapter instagram or introduce yourself to one of our sisters. We can only show you what makes us amazing if we know you want to know more.

Do I have to be a freshman to participate in recruitment?
Absolutely not! As a sorority, APhiG awards our members with a lifelong sisterhood and connections. We seek individuals who are passionate about our values and purpose regardless of their academic year. Fun fact: a sister joined rushed and joined APhiG while studying for her PhD!!

How do I become considered for a bid?
Women interested in APhiG must attend at least one Informational Night, one Sisterhood event, and one event of choice. Upon completion of recruitment, interviews will be held before bids are extended. Initial consideration also requires a minimum 2.5 GPA and at least part time enrollment (9 credit hours) at the University of Missouri.

Does APhiG participate in any form of hazing? What if I decide greek life or APhiG is not for me anymore?
Alpha Phi Gamma and the entire Mizzou campus does not conduct or support any and all forms of hazing. We strive to create a safe environment for all interests and PNMs. We make it clear and support all individuals to set their own boundaries before and during all parts of the Member Intake Process. There is no binding contract when it comes to joining Greek Life organizations, so all PNMs can leave the Process if and when they desire without fear of resentment.
