NATIONAL HISTORY

Alpha Phi Gamma emerged in the Fall of 1993 and became a reality on February 1, 1994, as the first Asian American Interest Sorority on the campus of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The Founders are Allex Choi, Candy Cunanan, Christine Nguyen, Sandie Rillera, Kolleen Kim, Grace Hsieh and Jennifer Oku. These Sisters wanted to bring together all women of different nationalities through the bonds of friendship and sisterhood. The sorority was established to promote service and Asian Awareness to the University and to the community, allowing for all the different nationalities to discover what other cultures had to offer.

CHAPTER HISTORY

A group of women saw the need for a support system for Asian-American women at the University of Missouri. Their desire was to giving Asian-American women a stronger voice and teach the community to become more open-minded to different cultures. On May 28, 1999, the Charter Class composed of: Yung-Yi Hsieh, Jennifer Kuo, Elizabeth Morris, Kathy Pham and Sarah Wilcox brought Alpha Phi Gamma to the University of Missouri as a colony.

On January 21, 2006 the Re-Charter Gamma Class composed of Theresa Dinh, Amelia Hadisiswanto, Katie Huang, Jamie Kanki, Chung-Mei Kao, Paula Kim, Jollene Hastings, Anna Lim, and Denise Link brought Alpha Phi Gamma back to campus
